Payment due within 72 hours after end of auction. I had my jeweler close the bail on the dove so the dove is secure on the chain :) Please feel free to message me with any questions as all sales are final. Instead I have hung the dove from a contemporary 14k 18 inch white gold chain. The dove was most likely suspended from a bow also set with quartz stones in silver that is now missing. There is some denting to the back of the silver that you can see in the pictures. Each stone in both wing tips is also paste and not rock crystal. Some of the quartz has either been replaced with pastes or was mixed with the quartz- particularly in the tail - look like they could be replacements but it's hard for me to tell. There are some wear to the facets of the stones. Although the Saint Esprit is still used in modern jewelry designs today, the antique pieces that have been passed through generations have now become especially desirable! This is one of those pieces :)I have added a contemporary 18 inch 14k white gold chain to the dove.Condition: The condition of this piece is very good considering it's age. The dove itself is highly symbolic in many cultures and faiths, widely recognized as a representation of peace, love, or fidelity. The Saint Esprit dove in jewelry can be traced back to pieces dating as early as the mid 1700's. These Saint Saint Esprit pieces are historically Christian Symbols (meaning "Holy Spirit" in French) and they were worn by Protestants and Catholics alike. The dove most likely was suspended from a bow that was also made of quartz stones and set in silver and is now missing. The stones are Rock Crystal (Quartz) stones with a few paste stones that were old replacements (both the stones at the tip of the wings and some in the tail) All the large stones in the body are quartz. ![]() ![]() The setting has been tested and is silver. The piece is French but I can not see any markings or hallmarks. I had purchased this pendant from a lovely French antique dealer in France.
